NAROOMA

Eighteen eager adventurers arrived at beautiful Narooma, exhilarated and excited, anticipating the enhancing experience they were soon to undertake.

An early morning knock-up ,and everyone was up and away. We were at the Town Wharf at 7am boarding the "NITRO" the sea calm and clear with sky blue. When we reached Montague Island it took a few seconds for some of us to realise the brown rocks on the Island were seals, the place was crammed with them. The New.Zealand Fur Seals greeted us warmly ,and it took us no time to get in the water The visibility was good and the seals put on a great show for us. On our other dives we say massive Bull Rays that enjoyed hanging with us ,and a turtle that didn't ; there were loads of little fish, it was very pretty. We had fun on the boat ,Benny the young Captain told us a few local folk tales and gave us a ride we won't forget .After our dives he went searching for whales and we all got a look at two humpbacks, this was COOL, and their were plenty of dolphins around also, the place is a smorgasbord of life.

After the dives on Saturday we headed off to Tilba Tilba an old country town built to support the dairy and timber industries in the late nineteenth century . Now in restoration, it is snuggled in the beautiful hilly countryside. Tilba Tilba has lots of historic specialty shops.... Woodturning, leatherwork, fudge, cobblers etc. The ladies dragged the menfolk through every shop in town, as Naazi said, "I don't want to leave any stone unturned", all Aaron could do was laugh , which is what we all did a lot of all weekend....

I did get lost in the Lolly Shop and didn't even think about surfacing and looking for my buddy, he knew where I was in the middle of Lemon Sorbets, Toffee's, Bon-Bons, Pear Drops and Liquorice of all sorts, just made to make your mouth water.

Thanks to everyone for making it a GREAT FUN weekend.

Sarah.
